*sweatdrop* Thanks for the compliments I checked my schedule and realise that I can in fact make Manifest. If thats the case then I'll probably do Sniper there too, its a very fuss-free cosplay and I can chill out. I don't have time to have more than one cosplay going at any one time.

www.cosplaymagic.com Is this a good shop? I looked at all the Male Cosplay outfits, I'm liking what they are offering and with free shipping here, that helps with the whole money issue. But what do you guys think, it's all good or more like too good to be true.

I spent close to $1000 each on both my Stargate SG-1 and Jedi costumes and I made most of the Jedi :S Though with anime costuming depending on the character it would probably be a lot less since I'm more hardcore when it comes to Stargate and Star Wars . Kenshin will probably be about $200ish all up, Squall may work out to be about the same though we'll wait and see haha. By the way Greenzaku, your sniper is looking awesome! Good work! ;D

'As cheap as possible'
My headcrab zombie was done OVERNIGHT...with a budget of $20. But then it was done partly as a statement against overspending on cosplay. I don't have anything against people who can and want to pay to make their cosplay look good, but back in Singapore, a small and very elitist section of the community were starting to go online and criticise people who made budget cosplays (by that I mean less than $200 or so).
Uesugi Kenshin was done for about $140, this was achievable because I part sewed, part tailored it, and got materials for the extensive props from dollar stores.
A break down of costs for Sniper so far:
pants - $4 shirt - $2 shoes - $7 assorted sewing materials $11 assorted craft/DIY materials $10 hat - $15 vest - $19 leather scrap - $10 balsa wood - $20
Not as cheap as I would have liked, but everything is re-usable and/or durable for day-to-day life so I'm not really complaining.

thats still really good, mine are usually under $100, i don't really add it up... I plan on keeping record for my one for our comp. I just want to brag about how awesome costumes can be cheap :-P

I have a HUGE amount of respect for budget cosplayers, i just cant do it!! I've got two cosplays in mind that i want to do that i should be able to do on the cheep, but they both require wigs, so thats $30 already, then probably $50 of other stuff. My cheapest so far has been spike, just on or under $100 (but I'm still planning on getting his signature Jericho 941, which would set me back $100-200, and his epic coat, probs $80-100, and contacts $40 each pair) I aim to spend $100-$300 on most of my cosplays in the future, armour and large projects are an exception. Im hoping Aoshi (i don't think thats how i spell his name) for the Kenshin group at manifest will be around $50 or $60, since i can use one of dunkleys wigs, thus saving $30.
