I thought I would make a thread for those of us who Cosplay where we can show off the progress of the costumes we are currently working on. Today I bought a pattern for a Kimono and some nice linen for my Kenshin costume so that has officially begun and can't wait to start work on it next week. I want to start now but I'm in Melbourne this weekend .

Yeah sure, small stuff like that dosen't take very long. unless you want more than one i could just make you one from styrene. Or unless you wanted one made in sterling silver. Is it the OVA version or the manga version? (if there's a difference, i haven't read the manga)
Todays progress- Poured the silicon for part of the ODST shin piece, and the toe piece.

Battosai: I have a real yukata of my own. I could lend it to you if you want to use the pattern for your cosplay.
For me...I'm wondering what material could be used to fill in fifty-cent sized holes in plastic leg guards that I want to convert into cosplay armor....:?

Well if your after a plastic that you can shape then cut holes in i would suggest these: ABS (the stuff stormtroopers use) styrene and I've seen some pretty decent stuff some with simple PVC piping that been cut and heated to a shape. Or perhaps craft foam.

I just need to do a few modificatiosn but it shouldn't be too hard. Today I bought some nice stretchy material to make some Tabi out of (Tabi are those Japanese split toe sock things for those who don't know what I'm talking about). I couldn't find any pre-made ones anywhere the right colour (They always seem to be either black, white grey or have patterns on them. Apart from that all I did today was pre-wash my other fabric so I'll make a start within the next few days.

p0rtalman: I meant that I already have a pair of very nicely shaped sports leg guards, but they have these decorative holes in them that need to be filled. Battosai: heh...I just cut slits into a pair of ordinary white socks and sewed + hemmed them

ohhh, in that case, depending how big the holes are you want body filler, or if they are larger, fiberglass and then body filler.
