You called the thread MAINfest hehe I was thinking either theres a new con I havn't heard from or it's a typo Anyway, I went to Manifest 2005 and it was pretty good but apparently its changes heaps since then, in a good way. All they need are guests and this con would go off *Cough*SteveBlum*Cough*ChristopherSabat*cough*

How does everyone feel about the new venue?

I suppose it's easier to drive to coming from Ballarat because it's pretty much straight off the freeway but if you need somewhere to stay theres no where conveniently close and getting there using public transport can be annoying. That's all going from what it was like for Supanova there.

Speaking of staying, what preparations must we make for this 24 hour convention. We stay somewhere outside the con or have they prepared something for us?

Zac- Manifest organisers a couple hotels and backpackers in the city with a discount for manifest attendents, and the train is pretty easy to get to the showgrounds. Plus we would be staying with heaps of other manifest people. And do you really wanna drive there and back each day? Also, i should have my P's by then, so i might bring my car and leave it at the hotel/backpackers over the weekend. (although i think im limited to only one other person in the car between the ages of 16 and 25 or some shit... i dunno) The new venue is a good venue for a con, but a crappy location in terms of getting there. I assume they will tell us what us involved in the 24 hour thing when they have the info prepaired...

Thank god I got my P's in 2007. Those laws don't apply! But anyway, I would have to agree that a place thats just outside of Footscray *thundercrash* is kind of inconvenient in more ways than one.

Don't worry I'm not planning on driving up each day, I did that for Armageddon last year and I don't want to do that again Was jsut mentioning hwo easy it is to drive there straight from Ballarat but I'll definately be getting accomodation. I can drive a car load up if needed though.

Driving up is what I did for Supanova, wasn't much of hassle for me. But it was easy to transport cosplay along. I would hate to think what would happen if people saw me on public transport in my Optimus Prime cosplay.

yeh driving is definitely the way, i mean there was no other way for me to get my wings transported without a car, in fact i had to borrow mums wagon cos its the only car that fit them in! parking is cheap too, should only be about $5 a day

For once I'm not going to have much armour to transport (only a helmet and a crap load of weapons)! yay! And we are so not bringing the xbox again, that was a mega waste of space... we can play DVD's on the laptop if needed. Where are other thinking of staying? I figure one of the host hotels or backpackers for us... (us includes me, dunks, and i assume zac?)

My grandparents live in Sunshine, it would save me petrol if I asked to stay for the weekend.

Yeah I'm good to stay with you guys again. If we can find somewhere closer if possible that would be nice. Suppose we'll wait and see what Manifest gives discounts for then book in straight away when that happens.
