They have one place already lined up: forums.manifest.org.au/index.php?showtopic=4722The mercure welcome, its in the city, but as i said its not that hard to take the train there. Or one of us could drive, i don't mind driving round the city... either way i don't want to get a taxi in melb ever again... I'm not loosing another bag! Oh and if we are driving, ill borrow my pops GPS, that would make it easier!

I would drive, but the city would seem hectic to drive around.

yeh driving is definitely the way, i mean there was no other way for me to get my wings transported without a car, in fact i had to borrow mums wagon cos its the only car that fit them in! parking is cheap too, should only be about $5 a day you have to remember that I'm going to have 2 costumes per day... sunday we will definitely need your mums car or whatever for the wings and my secret cosplay for that day... the one I plan on starting very soon.... hint hint... :-P oh and my blair hat is big... i don't want to take that on a tram... anyway, I think the location is good, although my costume changes will be interesting... and it would be good to have a proper cloak room thingo, instead of what they did at supanova... btw, the mercure is extremely expensive... even with a discount it wouldn't be cheap...

Yeah cloak rooms is something cons like supanova and arma don't supply to cosplayers... its a little annoying, but i suppose they have their reasons. Although i did get to use the 501st cloak room at armageddon last year I should really get started on my armour to join them... I checked the prices at the mercure, its pretty similar to the Hyatt, but i would probably be more inclined to stay at whatever backpackers they line up, it leaves more spending money!

don't for get jacks place! just as a note manifest is so awesome it dosen't need the "guests" that other cons need to get the crouds! consider this last year they had to stop selling passes for saturday at mid day cos they had sold out. also it's run by fans for fans and you don't have to deal with a middle man for buying tickets. and it's one of the largest ANIME (just anime) cons in australia! thus endth my speal

Well, you select what kind of pass you want - weekend, saturday etc, agree to the terms and conditions, then it says confirm your selections, click next... then it keeps saying "error in the SQL syntax etc, thus rejecting your registration.... Mighty annoying. I've tried on a few different computers too... try and see if it does the same to you

Please tell us what's going on! EDIT: I checked the registration section of the Manifest forums apparently other people are getting this problem. DOUBLE EDIT: Can we get syndicate passes for Manifest too as well as Amaranth?

There was an express of interest thread on the mainfest site. I'll look into it and report back once I've figured out if we can do a syndicate. It would be easier for all of us.
- I just looked it up, and syndicates are a minimum of 20 people, we might be able to do it, but if we can't then we'll just have to order tickets individually.

You sure it's not a "maximum" of 20 people? The Amaranth syndicates were minimum of 6 maximum of 20 I'm assuming it would be the same for Manifest. I was in a synidicate at the last Manifest I was at and we only had about 8 or so people in that, that was back in 2005 though....
Asking for 20+ per Synidicate seems a little much...

No, its the minimum... Manifest syndicates are different to amaranth ones. There were lots of people complaining on the site too, but the rules have changed because they are trying to bring them back (they were taken out of the registration system for a while) and apparently there is some other reason why they want to have 20 people, but they won't explain why.

Hey, instead of trying to register over the net, can we get a registration form and send a money order instead - this issue on the manifest site regarding registration is really irritating me. Considering the registration appently closes in a month too .... a syndicate would be a good idea too.
