Hi my name is TBoneTony,
most people just call me Tony.
I go to University of Ballarat but I come from a country victorian town that is 90 minutes drive.
Because this is the online world, I would like to keep my details of where I live only in private message or in spoken word face to face.
I heard about this forum on Tuesday when I was at the university of ballarat and I was lucky to meet someone who knew of the anime club in Ballarat.
I will do my best to attend the club meetings on the Friday but I still live with my parents back home. But because I am 27 they should let me have a day trip to Ballarat for the club get togethers as I am ok with driving back home 90 minutes in the dark.
2 to 6pm time is ok with me, it means I can listen to the Football on the way back home on radio during the winter months.
ok, so about me.
I was born in 1984 so that was back in a time when the 1980s Astro Boy was shown on ABC TV, and I guess that was my first exposure to Anime.
But I never knew of those types of cartoons were made in Japan until I saw Samurai Pizza Cats on this show called Agro's Cartoon Connection (years before Cheez TV was around)
Also some anime I remember around the early 90s was this show called Bob in the bottle and there was Twins of Destiny that was a collaboration between French and Japanese animators.
(In the 80s there was some other anime that was also part animated by French called the Mysterious Cities of Gold, as I can still remember bits of it but at the time I never knew the name of it until I saw it on youtube and recognised it.)
I also remember Sailor Moon when it first came out on TV, but the anime that made me the otaku that I am was Pokemon and that was during my teenage years.
At the time most people at school asked me why did I still like cartoons for kids?
And there had been times when I felt if there was something wrong with me, but when Pokemon came around I felt like I didn't have to listen to them.
It was later on when I got the internet at home when I found out about other anime like Urotsukidoji that I found out that Anime is more than just a cartoon for kids.
In fact, I kinda like anime that was inspired by Urotsukidoji.
I like many types of anime, from the kids ones to the...well...ecchi ones and everything in between.
So please let me know if I offend anyone because I did not mean to say anything that I shouldn't.
I just want to feel safe in being the otaku I am and I just want to meet friends within local distance who are otaku.
My friends who are otaku that I know are mostly people overseas who I see online, but the only local otaku people I know are people who are 10 years younger than me,
I also have a bro in law who likes Shonen Anime, but he has a security job so he can't come to club meetings.
and because the club meetings are 90 minutes away from Ballarat, my younger otaku friends can't come either until they get their own driver's lisence.
But I am ok to hang out with them at anime cons.
I also have an otaku friend who is like a childhood friend to me as her parents and my parents were friends before I was born and I sometimes lend her my anime DVDs.
But other than just those few, I hardly know anyone else and I would love to meet an otaku girl who does not mind the anime that I like. Well...that sort of anime that I like....
But I do like to meet more otaku friends within closer distance...
But so far...the only girl who has ever been like a girlfriend to me is a girl from overseas but she can't contact me anymore because of her computer breaking down,
I write fanfics, and I am also on Deviant Art.
I have also made just 2 flash games that are unfinished but I have them on DA as work in progresses,
I am trying to make my own games, and try to write stories based on my ideas I want to make in manga and anime someday.
they are kinda like Urotsukidoji sort of ones...so I can't post them here but I do make them relatively ecchi for DA standards.
oh, and I mostly like light hearted comedy anime, ecchi anime, harem anime, yuri/shojo ai anime and some...well...other type of anime that I have already mentioned a few times...
like to have some action too in my anime...demon slaying and stuff like that.
Also I love cute anime...sometimes with catgirls too.
so yeah, let me know if I need to edit out anything, but that is me that otaku that I am.
also I have a anime collection, manga collection as well as a wide videogame collection too with Japanese RPGs, Fighting games, Platform games and Visual Novels.
I also like Japanese shooting games that are 3rd person, I can't handle the first person shooting games that western developers have because I am not able to know who is behind me. that is my gaming weakness but I do love the on rails Japanese shooters like Gal Gun.
and of course side scroll shooters like the Parodius series.
ok, that is enough said by me.
