Well that saved me 60 bucks. I just bought Resident Evil Degeneration (the latest CG movie, FROM CAPCOM) instead and placed a pre-order on Street Fighter 4 for my PS3.

No I think it's good to bring back old threads. Anyway, I have a critique thing watch an average DVD amount of episodes (eg. 4) and then judge it altogether. After watching 4 episodes, I decided that even though it had it's moments this wasn't quite as funny as people made it out to be.

well azumanga daioh will be allot easier for western audiences to find funny because its humor is derived from randomness and silliness whereas luky star is aimed at like massively hardcore otaku with so many refences to obscure (to westerners anyway) animes and manga as well as brand new ones we wont know about just yet also because of Japanese speech if you watched the dubbed version some puns and word play might not translate through that well

It gets better later on in the series. They changed directors after the third episode because it wasn't moving in the direction that they wanted. By the end of the series, it's really good. The OVA, whilst, again, it starts slowly, is really awesome too. Miku makes an appearance, amongst others.

uh... i liked lucky star ^_^; i mean, sure the first episode seems to drag but once you get into it it's quite a cute and enjoyable series to watch; just one of those ones you can go back and watch from any episode once you're familiar with it. the dubbing isn't half bad too (if you count out patty... i swear they shoved a whistle down her throat...ugh). i got it cheap during boxtober at madman. and the girls are 17 at the start of the series. ikr?

One of the main features of the anime pattern is the unnaturally large eyes of the characters. The existing style was strongly influenced by Western animation traditions - Osamu Tezuka, considered the founder of this style, was inspired by characters from American animated films such as Betty Boop, Mickey Mouse and Bambi

Anime characters are distinguished not so much by the size of the eyes, but by the attention paid to detailing the eyes in relation to the rest of the face. The nose and mouth are usually depicted in several wavy lines, except when the character speaks
