5 Centimeters Per Second

Has anybody seen 5 Centimeters Per Second?

If so, what did you think?

I thought it was amazing, the visual direction alone is something worth seeing. The story is pretty sad.

It came out in 2007 by Makoto Shinkai, who also wrote "Voices of a Distant Star" and "Place Promised in our Early Days".
I haven't seen the other two yet though, but they're meant to be good as well.

I have seen this, and yes - it is very well done and definantly worth watching. I particularly like it because the characters seem more real to me- as in, it's not really the type of ending you expect. I also like Shinkai's "the place promised in our early days" - also very good.
