I am a noob when it comes to forums and threads all that. So if something is expected or not expected I apologize I will try to learn as quickly as possible.
I am a fairly recent convert to anime. Only within the last few years did my interest grow. At first I believed anime were just some japanese cartoons; boy was I wrong. Catching the occasional episode of bleach, monster, or a few others on Adult Swim isn't probably the average gateway into this world. But for me thats basically how it went. Then one day I got bored and decided to actually sit down and watch a few episodes of an anime. I believe it was Trigun. After that I was hooked.
Within the space of perhaps two years I have watched many different shows. Spanning most genres, many release years, and levels of interest. My style was to choose 8-9 anime that looked interesting from their descriptions and screen them. The intro was always one of the biggest determinations for me. If the intro had good music and looked appealing than I was ready to begin watching. The biggest turnoff was stupidity. I am not a huge fan of slapstick comedy. When an anime has bits and pieces its not a huge deal but, when the entire show or the main characters revolve around stupidity or slapstick humor i quickly move to something else.
To give a clue as to what anime appeal to me I can list my current top 5. They aren't in ranked order because I like them all fairly equally and in general if there was a continuation of the story that is also included.
Clannad, Full Metal Panic, Heroic Age, Trigun, and Kaze no Stigma.
Again I have no idea if this is how things are supposed to be done within a forum or thread so if i have erred feel free to set me straight. Keeping in mind that I will not respond to simple bashing of what I wrote.
