As soon as my exams are over, I plan on playing a lot of video games - because I feel I would have earned it! I also plan on getting a job until uni starts again, so I can afford such things as video games - and to fuel my ebay habit....

I've been stockpiling a lot of games/anime/manga for me to play/watch over the holiday break. So sounds like I got my holiday plan set.

So far I have the following things to do as soon as I finish my term:
Watch Gurren Lagann in English (watch their extras on DVD too) Watch all of Code Geass. Watch Appleseed Ex Machina (I know it's slow but I just bought this on the cheap and I've been meaning to watch it) Finish off Katamari Forever (I beat it, but I didn't REALLY beat it) Beat Demons Soul's (This is going to be a tough feat to accomplish because of it's extreme difficulty) Finally finish off Persona 4 (Will not spoil where I am right now) Play Uncharted 2 (I just got this game, it's actually very good) Play random online matches of Tekken 6 (with the occasional local match here or there) Read Hellsing and FMA Manga. ...and more!

Awesome! Hey, I just bought Persona 4 the other day! Is it any good? I haven't gotten around to playing it yet... I want to watch all of Gurren Laggan too - I wonder if the dubbing is any good...

Persona 4 is good. Damn good. It might just be so good, even Final Fantasy X is less superior compared to Persona 4. Believe me that is saying a lot, even being quite the FF Fan. Infact I am currently trying to find Persona 3 FES Edition (or wait for Persona 3 Portable) to check out. Persona 2 for PSOne is hard to find but believe it or not, Hitler makes a cameo. I wish I was kidding.
As for Gurren Lagann dubs, it's not too bad. Simon does sound a bit 'pussywhipped' but alas it's his kind of character in the earlier episodes. Also some of the Beastmen do sound really really weird.

Lucky you! I guess the only good thing about my exams being all at once is that I'll get them over and done with quickly - I'm trying to see the lighter side of my situation....

I would like to go back to the reason I made this topic. I am going to rant about something that has been annoying me a lot for a long time.
Allow me to start with the typical beginning *cough* Ahem...
You know what bothers me a lot? DVD Region Codes. Why? They are an inconvience to any couch potato who likes to watch movies or play games. For those who don't know about this bullshit allow me to explain. DVDs are encrypted with a certain code depending on what region said DVD will be shipped out to. For example Australian and New Zealand (and for some reason Mexico, South America, the Caribbean and Oceania) DVDs go under the DVD Region Code 4. You can only play those discs on a DVD player that supports Region Code 4. What's the point? I mean, I myself like to import DVDs from Japan, England, America and I can't play most of those DVDs (or even games) because the DVD player/console will not support it. There are ways to bypass this bullshit by either modifying the console or doing a soft crack to the DVD player. But even they are an inconvenience. It cost me about 100 dollars back in the day to modify my PS2 to play multi region games. As for DVD players, don't get me started with DVD players. I bought a Sony DVD player for 99 dollars, hoping to crack it so I can watch my Invader Zim DVDs. When I browsed the internet high and low for a way to soft crack it. There was no code that can soft crack the model of DVD player. Bullshit, that's a good 99 dollars down the drain for a DVD without a freakin purpose because I could just as easily use my PS2 to watch DVDs. So finally I found a cheaper DVD player in a market for 50 dollars that can support any region DVDs. Granted it's not THE BEST dvd player but it does what I payed for it to do. Now I know you are all thinking I could just as easily change the DVD setting on my computer. Wrong again, while it's true I can do that. There is a really *profanity*ed up catch to it. You can only do it a certain number of times before the feature is disabled from use. Even restoring the computer will not give you back the feature to use. I mean who in their right mind would think it would be a good idea to say "We will allow people to change DVD Region codes...but we will only grant them four times to do so." What the *profanity* were those people thinking? If a person who owns a laptop and goes country to country and wants to entertain himself with DVDs, he's going to have trouble.
Sigh, that's enough ranting for today. I'll leave another rant for another time. Please share with me your thoughts and stories on this matter.

Ahhh! I couldn't agree more! Region codes are the epitome of annoyance - especially for my laptop when we want to screen stuff at club meetings.....

I wonder what it was like back in the days of VHS/Betamax or the other formats of the past like Tapes or Cartridges (I know cartridges had to be stacked on a game genie or similar to work)
