Good day all, hope you are well in glorious Ballarat
I used to be a local Ballarat boy, and back then the only Anime club at the Uni was a bunch of guys who used to watch bootlegged VHS tapes (saw End of Evangelion that way), this was back in '99 of course.
Now I have been informed by a BAKA member that there is an actual Anime clup in Ballarat. Awesome, Awesome to the Max.
As for Anime that I like, I LOVE Evangelion (some of you may have seen my Shinji at last years Armageddon), Sailor Moon holds a spot in my heart since I sat down and watched the whole thing, in Japanese, instead of assorted episodes in English.
I also enjoy Haruhi Suzumiya, Tenchi Muyo and Last Exile and I am currently watching Planetes, Crono Crusade and Gurren Lagann.
So, Hello to those who managed to find enough people who are into Anime in Ballarat.

I extend my fullest of welcomes to you.
It's nice having another Evangelion fan on the boards! I, too, went as Shinji Ikari for Manifest this year (Saturday). And for the record: I watched EoE many, many years before getting around to the series.
Oakleigh, eh? Hmm... you mean the "Chadstone" Oakleigh? If so, that's quite a fair distance from Ballarat haha! (My mum's side of the family lives up there)
Enjoy your visit! We have plenty of Misato's cooking lying around here somewhere. =D

Shinji at Manifest, cool. I did Gendo for Manifest, probably will for the Saturday at Armageddon too. Now all we need is a Rei, Asuka, Misato and Ritsuko and we would have the gang (I'm trying to convince my much taller friend to do Fuyutsuki) but that won't happen for a while. Yes, that is the Chadstone Oakleigh, yes, I am a ways from Ballarat, but Ballarat was where I was first exposed to Anime, (Mostly thanks to SBS) so this is kinda like a homecoming. I did note that there was a Cosplay contest in Ballarat a while back and that stuck in my mind, but then one of the BAKA members "Found" me and convinced me to sign up. And my Sisters still live in Ballarat so I am there from time to time. I did see an Alex Row on the Sunday at Manifest, was that a BAKA member? Looks like there is a lot of Cosplay know-how here. that's good to know, as I may need assistance with an upcoming project  |

hay batwing as i said in a different post i know u  thanks for the support as i have said to others b4 when i first planed a meeting i would have been happy if one other person turned up....but look at us now a year later and still going strong! BAKA for ever!!!!! any way welcome |
