Basically this is going to be a first of random Otaku debates. The 1st one here will be a continuation of what me, Rose and others have been discussing since the last meeting. The topic is as this: WHO IS THE SUPERIOR ALUCARD AND WHY? My vote goes to Alucard from Castlevania and I will tell you why. - He killed Dracula - He has familiars - He can shapeshift into a bat...AND A WOLF...AND FOG - He actually dresses better than Hellsing's Alucard (but thats my opinion ) - He uses a wide assortment of weapons, rather then just guns. And thats why Alucard is better than Alucard.

I agree with that, Hellsing's Alucard is too... cowboyish for me, he's like a gunho wild man in a suit. He doesn't have the refined behaviour I expect of someone like himself. Alucard in Castlevania as a sense of style. Incase you have no idea what the other version of Alucard looks like go here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alucard_(Castlevania)Oh and if I recall correctly Alucard also makes an appearance in one of the other Vampire Anime Series that I have, once I'm sure I'll post it here too. That Alucard looks fairly good as well.

Both Alucard's are cool - although I like Hellsing's Alucard slightly better - what other vampire can wear a pimp hat (fedora) and still look cool? That, and he can be completely obliterated and still revive from a puddle of mush....

well my vote is Alucard from hellsing 1) he is Vlad the impaler 2) he is Dracula 3) he can call out all the souls of every one he has ever feed of, in a blood thirsty army of death 4) he can crash a plane made to go in to the higher atmosphere in to an air craft Carrier and still kill every one on board with his bear hands 5) hes not confined to one shape he can change his shape as he sees fit 6)he will insult u as hes beating u down 7) as Celeste said he can come back from a puddle of mush and the list goes on, for more info read the manga

Oh and please note that some of the references from Hellsing (Alucard in particular) actually came from Castlevania, so SotN Alucard won points for originality. Mind you SotN Alucard was created in 1990 in the Castlevania game Castlevania III: Draculas Curse on the SNES. I believe Hellsing came out years later.
As for Alucards (Hellsing) hat, I always called it a Spanish Inquistion hat, because it reminded me of that Monty Python skit.

Being a gamer first I will say Castlevania Alucard, I just love the Castlevania games too much to say otherwise, especially the DS castlevania games, i've played them way too much lol.

Watch Hellsing Ultimates vol 1 & 2. I can name several references to the original game, so you can see where inspiration was clearly taken.

Besides Alucard was originally and alias taken on by Drakula in an older novel. But yes I believe that the series has quite a few references to the game. But it's been a while since I played it so I can't say I'm 100% sure of all of it.

In fact wasn't Kouta Hirano a fan of Castlevania? (this was according to a fact in one of his Hellsing Manga)
