Well I figured I'm totally new here so I should introduce myself.
Name's Roadkill. Actually, I have a real name but you'll hear more people call me by that than anything else. Live about 20-30 mins out of Ballarat, go to school there, ect, ect.
Anyway, anime-wise, I'm not the biggest fanatic in the world, but I do enjoy it. Elfen Lied was definitely my favourite series, followed by Wallflower and Gravitation (not a yaori fangirl.) Vampire Knight is alright, too, and Haruhi is pretty sweet. I tend to watch whatever my friends tell me is good and then never actually finish the series. I also don't mind kicking having a few beers and watching some Pokemon with some mates. We kick it oldschool. Hahah.
I'm more of a game fan than anything, though. Bit of a Resident Evil nut, and more than partial to Silent Hill. I like scaring myself silly. I'm also really keen on Lolita and cosplay-photography, I have about two or three lolita outfits - it's an expensive hobby.
If any of you guys dropped by SupaNova this year on the Saturday, I was the redhead girl in the blue Lolita outfit, so you might have seen me if you paid any attention. Manifest will be my first actual cosplay (should all go according to plan) as a bubblehead nurse from Silent Hill, so that should be interesting.
...Anyway... I've gone on for long enough. I'll be quiet now.

Cool a survival horror gamer. Scary games and movies are fun, but for some reason none of them really get to me so i'm always looking for something that will scare the pants off me. And i'm sure you'll find that many of us here have our own expensive hobbies. But apart from that, welcome to you.

Its good to have gamers here as well. I love them (gamers), they are fun.
Have fun here and post lots, we'd love to hear your opinion on everything and sometimes on nothing at all.

Cosplay is fantastic and you have not lived until you've tried it. Doing it in character, however... now THERE is an experience.

I agree there's little point in cosplaying unless your going in character. This statement is wrong. You act in character when necessary, and in some cases (for certain cosplays) you CANT act in character mot of the time. especially if your wearing a helmet. even if you don't act in character theres still plenty of point to cosplaying, its about having fun. that said acting in character if you choose is an important part.

Also, If your a character with a particlar attitude or uses excessive coarse language you'd probably be kicked out of the con. I do wan't to start getting more in character with my costumes though.
