This guy, lol!
Here's pretty much what it says, as copied from LordReyson from GameFAQs
""I got this message from a guy on youtube, he asked me if I played the game, obviously I have so I agreed and he asked me why did I like it, I mentioned the basic such as "repede is awesome, the music is great and the voice acting is superb"
Anyway, I got a couple of mails from this person, mentioning deep "facts" (or so he claims) about the game.
You guys may feel to lazy to read this, but give it a try, it's kind of funny, here:
'Ahem, in the last part of this letter I wrote telling you of my understanding of your sentiment of game Tales of Vesperia. I know of its good points and can put my feelings aside to say it was a decent game; but as my grandfather always told me "A few good deeds doesn't patch over wickedness". At first when I played Tales of Vesperia. I notice some odd things about the game. Questionable things such as the name--that's what really stuck out the most, I notice the character Yuri and his design--that was second, I noticed Judith's name originally was to be Judas--that was third, the final thing I notice that compelled me to look more ,into the game, was the fact of whenever I discussed the game ,with another player, they told nothing of why they like it. Just "All it's awesome. and Yuri's cute. Repede's a dog". I jest you not. Going in forums and listening in on "deep" talks of Tales of Vesperia only lead to disappointment. No one really talked about the characters. It was like everyone was trying to ignore something. This lead me to get off my fanny and talk a closer look at the game.
Let's get started with the things I noticed, for I will take you in the same steps of my own:
1st.
The name Tales of Vesperia has a deeper meaning than you would think. Now in an interview the director of the game (sorry can't remember the name) said that he wanted the game to be centered on morals [Keep this in mind, very important]. Look at the name itself, like it or not every name has a meaning. Mine is LaFrank pronounced in two different ways--1st way is the French way that serpreates into two meanings. Old and Modern.
Old way -La variant of the word Lea, from the Hebrew word Leah, meaning Weary or Rule. Frank is a name for the Germanic tribe that traveled to France and Netherlands in the 3&4 century. They choose their names from the name of the Spear the used "The Frank".
Olden way my name means "Tired--depends of # of definition--(or ruling) Spear".
Modern way -La article of direction (or filler in the French Language--as in The). Frank is the American way of saying Franc which was the money source of France.
Modern way my name means "The Money"
This is important since we are now breaking down names to get their meanings. This how you break down a name (or word). Tales of Vesperia in it's literal sense means "Story of Worship". Tales (or since it's one game it's Tale) means story; Vesperia is the ply of the word Vespera (which is the Latin word Vesper) and Vesper is the name of the Catholic evening mass and the conference of the Pope and his Cardinals. That's the meaning of the game Tale of Vesper(ia)=Story of Worship.'
2nd.
The design of Yuri is odd, when you look at it. They purposely made him look like a girl. Anime usually do this to the "Beautiful" characters to give a vain image and to drive the foreign wedge. Many people would try to argue that it's Art. This is true but it's not Japanese Art. Japanese Art showed Men in darker colors and "beefier" than women. Not until the 70's did they open their media up to Western influence and adopted some of our techniques. Even with the adoption of the feminine beauty of young men they use it to wedge differences between Japan and the world.Yuri doesn't have a vain image but he does have a vain attitude, for most part of the game Yuri cares only for his needs and wants and passively controls the flow and cast motives. Yuri's cloths are not of Japanese origin. They look of European with a fantasy spin. Lastly he has a standard katana. A traditional Japanese weapon.
Now for the name Yuri itself. Yuri is originally Russian/Ukrainian variant of the word Yuriy, which equivalent to George. Remember that the Japanese don't have their own language. They borrowed most of their vocals and nearly all their writings from the Chinese, so the Japanese meaning of Yuri [Lilly] can only be justified with flower aspects about the character, notice that Yuri has a lot of Wolf name related attacks and even associates with a wolf. This can clearly be seen as his "Fighting Spirit". You see this a lot when taking Japanese martial arts and watching marital arts anime.
Now breaking down Yuri- Yuri's name means "Earth Worker". Yuri, as written, is from Yuriy which is a variant translation of George. George is from the Greek word Georgeios, which is made of the words Ge [Earth]-Oergon [Work]. This name was used for farmers. Yuri=Earth Worker. Lowell is an English last name from the France nickname lou meaning wolf. Yuri Lowell=Earth Worker Wolf or Earth Working Wolf
Yuri's image is the Japanese with Western influence. Yuri is made with Western style art, Western cloths, Western name that can be disguised as a Japanese name (remember Final Fantasy 8); but welds a Japanese weapon. A traditional Japanese weapon. A weapon that is like a symbol of Japan. Now, as written, Japan martial arts has the notion of the "fighters Spirit". Where your aura would show through while fighting. This aura carries the fighter and gives him strength; hence why weapons can be evil in Japanese folklore. Yuri moves are mostly wolves. Making it safe to say he gives the aura of the Wolf spirit. He is ALWAYS seen with Repede his wolf. Repede is a ply of the word Repedea which is Roman [and Romanian] for "The Fast One". Repede is also a deviant of the word Ricardo meaning Richard (which means honorable or noble).
Yuri's Character- Yuri Lowell is the picture of influence Japanese (on the outside he looks Western but he has a Japanese Spirit), with the old Romanian system by his side. We can say old 'cause Yuri often refer to Repede as old. Earth Working Wolf with the Roman Empire (Cause Bistrita was covered by Rome during the Empire days). I'm sure you read the last "Wolf" that came from the old Roman Empire...Adolf Hitler. Name means Noble Wolf. Yuri last name is wolf, and he has the spirit of a wolf who's name is both a government and means noble. R before Y. Yuri believes in Social Justice and in one skit he even mentions "Spread the wealth". Besides from blaming the Jews for the SOCIAL downfall of Germany and the world, he was a communist. Yuri is a Japanese Nazi. Remember that Nazi's was a communist worker, not just soldiers.
3rd.
Judith was to be Judas in the original version. The companies changed the name because of the weight of it. The betrayer of Chris. The game means Story of Worship (from a Christian word) with a name of a person that betrayed GOD; but in the game not only those she "betray" you. Her betrayal is a big misunderstanding. This doesn't sound right. Her name alone don't say much but it fits into the Big Picture coming later.
4th.
The igonarnt nature of the people that played it. I'm not calling you stupid or ignorant. I've talked to many of people that really can not name one thing they like about the game. This includes forums. When someone disagrees with the waving view everyone turns against them. This alone raises an eyebrow 'cause civilized people don't react this way; but the problem is in the big picture. The big picture explains a lot of my worries.'
''Hello again. This is the final part of the letter about Tales of Vesperia. In this letter we will go over the imagery and symbolism of the story of the game. If you are still with then, I commend you for putting your feelings aside. I tried this with others and have been called everything under the sun and even had death threats. Really, just for pointing out some creepy facts of the game. Hopefully from reading this letter you'll notice more about the game. In Psalms it states we prepare our bodies by the things we see and do. That's why you need to know what you are REALLY playing and singing before you relax yourself 'cause whatever spirit on said object could easily get into a relaxed body ,than a guarded one.
In the last letter I tackled Yuri and his design, along with Judas's name. Now lets go over the others. Karol is spelled with a German ascent to give the separating effect of the C and A. Know in English you merge the C and A together because of the vowel. The spelling you see isn't as it should sound. The Spelling you see is for a C because Germans say there C's hard; thus sounding like an K. Karol is actually Carol. Carol is a BOY's name. There is a Karol[how they pronounce it]. True but that's for girls in Germany. This is a clear sign of homosexuality. There's even a skit and scene where he dresses like a girl (and it's even a costume). He, in the beginning of the game, a coward afraid; but as the game goes on he comes out of his "shell" about who he is. His hope was the "Don" (pronounced Dawn), or as he say "Big Don". Don is to raising as to big is to change. Big Don=Change raising. The change is the image of homosexuality, as it grows into acceptance in the world.
he next hidden name is Estelle. Estelle means star. It's Latin. Know what else means star in Latin...ready...Venus (or Lucifer). Estelle names the group after the morning star. She named them after Satan. Satan!!! She is The Star, or she is the helper of Satan and if you use replacement theory she IS Satan!!! Her full name is Estellise Sidos Heruassein. The looks seem to be from Latin, Greek and Arabic right...wrong! Estelle is made of two words: Eh (which is just an E in English) is both Hebrew and Arabic for the article "the". Stella is Latin for Star. Put it together "The Star". Okay next is Sidos, is Frisian short for Sigu meaning victory. Heruassein is a play of letters. Since the A is at the end of the S and the S is surrounded by the E (both being vowels) you have to double the S, so lets remove the vowels shall we and we get Heruas. Say that fast. Her-Ras. Her-Ras. Her-Ras. Now say Horas [The Egyptian supreme god and fallen angel]. Hor-Ras. The name is a ply. Her-Rassein. Her-Rassein. Her-Raising. Her Raising! This girl is Satan! Ahhh, Satan! Her full name is:
Estelle Sidos Heruassein
The Star Victory God of light.
Lets put this in the western order:
Heruassein Estelle Sidos
God of Light The Star Victory
That's not all. In the game it's HER quest not Yuri's. The focus is on HER! She even names their group (covered in the 1st letter). She's a child of the "Full Moon". The moon has always been a big part of Satan worshipers; the moon as important, in some cases as the star of Bephomet (also known as The Star). She have the power to give life which is not "mana". Later in the game her power is converted into "Spirits" to keep watch over the world.
Heruassein Estelle Sidos=God of Light Bephomet Victory.
On top of that by her charging do the group side with Elucifer. Pronounced El Lucifer. The Morning Star. Satan. This game is evil. Do I need to go on? I haven't even gotten to the replacement theory yet and look at this! I haven't even gotten to the story and look at this! Hell I haven't even broke down the character growth nor got to half to the cast! This game is devoted to Satan! Tell your friends and family! Warn people, please! Thank you for listening.''
Well it seems this is the last post about his experience with Tales of Vesperia.
