Ok another rant, this one was LONG OVERDUE.
The snacks at the movie...COST TOO FREAKIN' MUCH. Honestly, I went for a large coke when I saw Kick-Ass a while back. SIX DOLLARS TEN CENTS alone no popcorn, no choc-top, no candy, no chips, SIX FRIGGIN TEN for a large coke on it's own. Bloody ridiculous! It's not just the drinks, it's the popcorn, ice-cream, candy...hell THEY'RE ALL OVERPRICED!
How they get you is the menu. Oh wait, THERE IS NO MENU. They don't tell you on a board what they serve and how much like at the movie box office. No they deliberately HIDE the menus and expect you to see what it is they are serving and they will sucker punch you with the price out of thin air. My theory is that we are all psychic, like we know the prices already. Sure they will tell you the specials that go with current movies and the combo listing to let you know the options, but even then...no prices.
Then you got the combos, makes you think your saving money. But you tell me this would you justify TEN DOLLARS for a Large (not Jumbo; size of KFC bucket) popcorn and 2 Large Drinks for that much? Would you be satisfied? Or would you still feel screwed over by the cinema? You know what the sad thing is, the rule: NO OUTSIDE FOOD. So once you go inside the cinema, you're screwed by the rules of their establishment.
Now I know what you guys think "Aaron you unhappy, miserable douche. Can't you just buy food outside the cinema, eat that and THEN go to the cinema and just enjoy the movie like a sane human being?". Well no, I quite like popcorn frankly and I know you all do too. Another thing you might think "Aaron, don't you have friends to join you in your movies? Get them to split the money for snacks." I doubt you know my movie going friends, they are smarter than to fork huge amounts of money, even if we agree to split the money, it would just cause arguments since combos only serve up to two people at the same time. I mostly with go with 3+ friends.
Surely I am not alone in this and I know other movie goers will not tolerate this any longer.
