That's a different sort though Andrew. The pattern I used was a more of a traditional Japanese hakama that came with patterns for the backboard and a lot more detail on the pleats, the belt parst are different and so is the crotch. They are both ARE just rectangles of fabric but they way the two types are put together are completely different. The one I got also had a chart for what size to cut it to in comparison to your waist size (All in inches though >.<). Anyway, no I didn't find it in spotlight, that was the kimono pattern. I ordered my pattern online from here: www.habithat.co.uk/product_info.php/products_id/5361Was a great pattern though a bit confusing to read at parts but in the end was fantastic. Anywa

well the pattern there is the proper japanese way of doing it, shes fully researched everything then compiled it in english. a lot of the patterns bought in stores like spotlight or so only emulate the look rather than how they are actually put together in figuring out those designs i had to use a traditional pair i bought to get an idea of how it actually went together and other measurements and such

That website is freakin' awesome, they have heaps of patterns from the 40's that I'm going to throw my money at now. And uh, other things for cosplay. Yeah. Totally. >.>

Rose is going to cosplay Kantarou, and I'm going to cosplay Haruka - in his tengu clothes. I figured I just have to make two kimonos; a long red one and a shorter white one which is worn over the red one. And Haruka's big black wings! I would love to make his wings... Andrew, could you help me...? As for the hakama, I have a pattern you can use Rose...

My cosplay just came in the mail, all is well except that they ripped me off a little on the headband. I got it very cheap, so I can't really complain... anyone know how to make the frilly headbands with the little cat ears on them?

ROADKILL- my mum is making one of those frilly things with the cats ears on them lol. i think she is just gonna wing it, so to speak. She is very good at looking at a picture of something and then working out how to make it for herself.
Is it too much to ask who you are cosplaying as? or is it a secret

Yay! Thank you! I'd like to start on the wings asap, but I don't plan on needing them for Manifest (volunteering would be made difficult wearing large wings ) - Rose wants me to cosplay Haruka to Armogeddan in november - so we still have some time...
